Welcome to my portfolio! I’ve had the pleasure of working in various artistic fields over the years. Including working in the Visual Merchandising Department for the largest store in the world, Macy’s Herald Square. After leaving Macy’s, I created window displays and custom signage for small businesses in a quaint upstate New York town called Corning. In addition to my event design and floristry business, I’m also currently a guest designer for Shinoda Design Center in Southern California where I help them with visual merchandising and create endcap displays that inspire!

I’m also a painter, a public speaker, and attended intensive theater arts training in NYC at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, so have a strong background in set design and fabrication.

Shinoda Design Center, Orange County, CA

Shinoda Design Center is known for their over the top, inspiring endcap displays. I’ve had the pleasure of guest designing for Shinoda since the inception of my floral design business, Fresh by Brandon, in 2016. Like 30 different window displays in one store, creating designs for every occasion and theme has been a true blast.

With black light parties and all things 90’s being cool again, this display was designed to feature and boost the sales of the neon table runners and cloths in stock at Shinoda.

Black, Gold, Silver

A black, gold, and silver display with deep plum florals and lots of texture. An elevated yet moody party decor idea!

Rose Gold and Neutrals

This escort card wedding display features rose gold accessories and natural, oversized, woven basket style orb pendants. A great way to achieve a natural look that is still impactful and screams luxury, with plenty of florals above.

Merchandising Dried Product

When Shinoda scored big with a giant inventory of dried product, they felt overwhelmed by how to display it all properly in a shop-able fashion. Luckily, this is a particular area of expertise for me and we created a dried product zone that flows seamlessly into succulents and ferns and is still shop-able.

Lace, Burlap, and chalk board

This is the perfect example of being well rounded enough to design a great display even if the materials and theme aren’t your personal style. The burlap and lace wedding, with mason jar centerpieces, is a look I wish would go out of style. However, this display has proven to be the most photographed and bought from display of the Spring season.

Miscellaneous Small Business Support

I’ve had the joy of helping some rad small businesses with signage, visual merchandising for maximizing sales, and other forms of artistic business support. Below are a few examples.

Posh- a clothing store for the stylish modern woman

When a local business woman decided to open a clothing shop in small town Corning, I was honored to be brought along to help with all things aesthetic from the logo, to the paint colors, mannequins and windows. It was great fun and wonderful success.

Vinyl Signing for upscale salon

Before the days of Cricut, I used my living room as a sign shop for my massive plotter! I made and installed custom vinyl for many local businesses, including this salon.

This local salon wanted the fleur de lis design from their business card recreated to take up the entire window in a frosted vinyl, providing a bit of an artistic touch and privacy without fully obstructing the windows and light.

Punk Rock Valentine

A local salon wanted some Valentine’s Broken Heart design for their grand re-opening. We used their signature neon color to create this punk rock vibe.

Macy’s - Herald Square, NYC

Working for the largest store in the world, Macy’s Herald Square, was a dream come true! Nine floors (a full city block each!) of visual merchandising fun!

My duties as a Visual Supervisor included managing visual staff, including delegation of projects and scheduling. Creating, installing, and maintaining visual props and displays for various seasons and events. I also created and installed graphics and signage to ensure merchandise was signed according to company standards. And off course, the best part, the mannequins! Pulling fashion and styling of mannequins throughout women's shoes, children's clothing, plus sized clothing, lingerie, women's coats, and swimwear areas was one of my favorite parts of the job. I also loved the late night fun of assisting on the design and installation of window displays! Like working with Jessica’s team on ten full windows worth of her new products. Check it out below along with some other favorites of mine. Including some from the Children’s Department, where we used marshmallow peeps and ribbon, hand painted murals, and cardboard peace signs to create fun displays, without much of a budget!

Working with the windows team was always an fun adventure!

No budget? No problem! Some blue paint with hand painted white clouds and some cardboard peace signs covered in vinyl did the trick for this Macy’s display.

Hand made paper kites, on a hand painted backdrop equals fun!

Ribbons and Marshmallow peeps made this Children’s Dept Easter theme come to life, utilizing materials already on hand.

During Macy’s Flower Show, we handmade hundreds of flowers from construction paper!

For this Horton Hears a Who display at Macy’s we made an oversized gift box out of a packing crate and red vinyl! Inventive and on budget, and oh so cute!

For this young men’s display we created our backdrop with spray painting in a graffiti style. Perfect for streetwear.

We had a spool of ribbon and no budget for painting the walls, so we created stripes with ribbon!

Vinyl sunburst!

Create a display that says beach resort, using this empty platform and spool of twine. No probem! Hot glued some starfish to the twine and filled the platform with beach sand!

I’m an artist!

In addition to creative work for businesses, I also love to dabble in paints, digital drawing and sketching, and of course floral arts.

The first painting I ever sold!

I created a series of painting of men embracing for a theme party at a gay bar I decorated in NYC. The night of the party a patron asked me how much for the paintings and I had no idea what to say! I had never considered selling art. He ended up buying this and a few others, and I ended up traveling to Europe for the first time with my new art money.

Commissioned floral art

This art piece was commissioned by the touring company of STOMP for their opening at the Pantages Theater in LA. Built in a STOMP trash can and utilizing retired props such as drumsticks, brooms, and scaffolding.

Charged with creating something “inspiring, unique and spooky” for the creatives at Taco Bell Design, the inhouse design agency at Yum Brands, this spooky piece is called, “The fortune teller’s garden”. Features a crystal ball with hand sculpted fortune tellers hands, hand made blooming eyeballs, and lots of other spooky goodies!
